My First Glossybox - July 2017

A lately I've found myself stuck in a bit of a beauty rut, using the same old products and not venturing out of my comfort zone. Uncharacteristically for me, when it's come to new releases and the latest hypes I've had my head buried in the sand. So in a bid to break out of my little bubble, I've been making an effort to discover new products, but for some inexplicable reason my inspiration river has been running dry.

Now, subscription boxes have been floating around for quite some time and while I may be a regular subscriber to one on behalf of my pooch, I've never actually tried one for myself. Even my boyfriend jumped on the bandwagon a long time ago with a real ale subscription box. So basically I'm the only one in my little family that doesn't have a cute little parcel full of surprise treats arriving for them on a monthly basis *sad face*. So when an ad for Glossybox popped up on my usual evening Facebook scroll I just went for it. I've heard plenty about Glossybox before and just thought, why the heck not.

Isn't it just the nicest feeling to come home from a shitty day at work to find a package of goodies waiting for you? Especially when you genuinely have no idea what's inside! It's like a surprise present from myself.

First up, the packaging on this months box is gorgeous! It's such a pretty box and I'll definitely be keeping it and utilising it as storage for the many bits and pieces I seem to hoard. Everything was neatly wrapped in tissue paper and a ribbon which just makes things feel that bit more special.

In this months box:

- Spectrum Fan Brush
- Cutebalms Lip Balm
- Bellapierre Banana Powder
- Monuspa After Sun
- Papanga Hair Bands (3)

All in all, I'm really pleased. The stand out for me has to be the fan brush, I've been wanting one for ages and I've used it every single time I've done my makeup since I got it. I love it. The spiral hair bands have also been something I've used so much already and the lip balm is already at home in hand bag. I'm yet to use the banana powder but I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm sure the after sun will come in super useful on my holiday later this year!

In the past I've maybe thought that the idea of a beauty box was a little odd, paying for products that I don't get to personally choose and may not want, but my first experience of one has been really good. And I'm definitely looking forward to the August box arriving now!
