Christmas Homeware Haul 2016

November is almost over, and I've been getting prepared for December (i.e Christmas!). The past week I've been getting a little spend-y, a little haul-y and a little bit excited! I love getting my house ready for Christmas, and just adding those little touches that make me feel extra festive and cosy when I'm hanging out in my fave place.

The first place that Christmas starts creeping in is the bedroom. When I think of winter, I think of my bed. I think of grabbing a book, a hot chocolate, getting in the comfiest pyjamas I own and nestling in to my big cosy duvet, surrounded by lots of blankets and mountains of cushions. The ultimate in a winter cose-fest (is cose a word? Probably not). I always like to keep my bedroom light. My walls are white, my bed is white, I usually have white bedding and my carpet and cushions are both light grey and I have a few duck egg/blue hues thrown in there. I don't like too much of a drastic change when it comes to Christmas, I just like to add a winter touch. I currently have my winter bedding on (from George at Asda last year) which is so sweet with all the little winter animals on and I think it suits the aesthetic of the room perfectly while giving a little nod to the season.  To add to cushions I already own, and just get a everything feeling a little extra festive I bought these two cushions from George at Asda.
The big Polar Bear Cushion (£8) is so fluffy and snuggly and his face is so adorable! He also has floppy ears on the top which I think is a nice little touch. Next to him sits the Baby It's Cold Outside Cushion (£5) which is smaller and looks perfectly at home with the other 'non Christmas' cushions on my bed. The lettering is stitched in a glittery gold thread which contrasts nicely against the grey and white. All in all, it creates the perfect little wintery scene and it makes me super happy.

My online shopping trip then took me to Matalan. I'd spent many hours browsing their Christmas shop since the beginning of November, and I'm being completely sincere when I say that at one point I had around 90% of their Christmas homeware in my basket. I had to restrain myself though. Firstly because, as my dad would say, I'm not made of money. Secondly because I have a tiny house and a lot of Christmas decorations that I also bought last year so... as much as I wish I could have it all, I simply just don't have the space.

The first thing I deigned necessary to buy was this adorable little Santa Oven Glove (£4). As I said in my video below, the kitchen usually gets neglected when it comes to decking the house out for Christmas. All my festive baking and hot chocolate making happens in that room, so it only made sense to just add a little something to the room and not leave it out of the festive decorating completely.

Next up is the 'Merry Woofmas' Ceramic Bone decoration (£2). I love getting my pooch Charlie involved in Christmas. He has Christmas jumpers, a Santa outfit, and Elf outfit (yes I am one of those people) and he also gets his presents wrapped up and put under the tree for Christmas morning. So when I saw this little bone decoration I couldn't resist.

Now, I've never had a Nutcracker as part of my festive ensemble before. But there's something about this chap that I find so endearing and quintessentially Christmas. Meet Norman (yes I've named him) the Guard Nutcracker (£12). Norman has stole my heart, and there's not much else to say.

Speaking of things that have stole my heart. Tell me these mugs aren't cute! You can't, can you? How bloody adorable are those little faces and rosy cheeks? These Santa and Snowman mugs (£4 each - currently unavailable on the website) are hand painted in the sweetest little style. The amount of hot chocolates I will be drinking out of these cuties will probably be so bad, but oh so good for the soul.

The last two little accessories I've got to pop in my living room are from my online shop, Homebird Boutique. A Copper Reindeer (£6) which has a little tea light holder on it's back, perfect for the millions of candles I'll be burning. I've just never seen anything like this before, it's such a simple design yet something about him is so cute. So I've got two of these because you can never have too many tea lights, or copper, or christmas paraphernalia.
I also got a Snowflake and Bells Garland (£7). It's such a simple little Christmas decoration and I've got so many ideas for where I want to hang this. It's just so perfect for bringing a little piece of winter indoors. Plus the silver bells are so jingly which is THE sound of Christmas.

So that's everything I've bought for around the house so far. Let me know what you think and if you've started getting ready for Christmas yet!

Also if you didn't know, I've recently started a Youtube Channel.  I filmed this haul in the video below so it'd be amazing if you fancied giving it a watch :).
