Favourites | February

Beauty

I first purchased the Maybelline Lash Sensational in Waterproof around December time and I wasn't completely head over heals at first, but the more I used it, the more I started to like it. It featured in my Birthday Make Up post last month, and throughout February it's become a firm favourite. Initially I found it a little clumpy and a bit too wet, but I don't seem to be having that issue with it now. Perhaps it's reached its optimum age, that I often find mascaras have...that bit in the middle where it's no longer brand new but hasn't quite dried out yet either. Regardless, I've warmed to it and now I wouldn't be without it.

Another beauty I haven't been able to put down this month is the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Pink Bronze. I found this tucked away, unloved and forgotten in the back of a drawer and I've used it so much since I've just recently repurchased. It's perfect for adding a little bronzed colour when my face is looking flat and pale after applying a high coverage foundation. The gorgeous shimmer running throughout means I can be lazy and use this product as both a highlight and subtle contour on those mornings where I choose to snooze my alarm one too many times. I have a feeling I'll be loving this product right through to the summer.

My last make up favourite comes in the form of the Revlon ColourBurst Matte Balm in Sultry. I've loved the ColourBurst Matte Balms since they launched, and I often come back round to using them. February has been the month I rediscovered the shade Sultry and I wondered how I'd ever forgotten about it. It's the perfect deep shade of dusky pink that I've been wearing throughout the day and also popping on if I'm heading out at night.

My last beauty favourite is the little tube of Sanctuary Spa Velvety Hand Cream, which came as part of a gift I received at Christmas. I keep a large tube of Soap & Glory Hand Food on my bedside table, but this little guy is perfect handbag size, so I thought I'd throw it in my every day bag and give it a go. The smell is gorgeous, it's quite citrusy and I can't get enough of it. I've been rubbing it in my hands and then sniffing them like a maniac for the next half hour. I hate having dry hands and keeping this with me has been a dry hand saviour.

Fashion

February has been so cold, the mornings have been so frosty but there's been quite a lot of sunny days too. Which means I've spent a lot of time in parks with my furry little pal. Don't let the sun deceive you, it's still bloody freezing. I've been wrapping up in my gorgeous Topshop Khaki Scarf. It's big, thick, blankety and completely snuggly, what more could you want from a scarf? It's also khaki and therefore I automatically love it regardless.

This month I've also been LOVE LOVE LOVING, my Olivia Burton Rose Gold Watch. After what felt like years of lusting I got given this for my birthday in January and I finally had the links I needed removing removed this month, which meant I could finally wear it! I'd like to say that it's not left my wrist since, but that's not the case. I just can't bring myself to wear it casually to work or as I'm pottering around the house cleaning and what not. I've wanted this watch for so long, the last thing I want is for it to get scratched and be less than perfect. But I do love it, and perhaps I'll just have to get over my fear of hurting it.

Other Stuff

I've been drinking so much Twninings Butter Mint tea during February, my mother would tell me that I'm going to turn in to a butter mint. I love flavoured teas and this is so sweet and vanilla-y, I've had at least one cup a day, it's become a bit of a habit.

Almost every time I've gone to the Supermarket for the dreaded food shop this month, I've picked up a bunch of lilies. I love lilies, they're one of my favourites, I think they're absolutely beautiful. It makes me so happy to have fresh flowers in the house and I find myself just sitting and staring at them, smiling. Which is probably a bit creepy but they're just so pleasing to my eyes.

At the beginning of the month I went to see All Time Low and Good Charlotte at Manchester Arena with a group of friends and it was amazing. It took me right back to being in high school and my ever so flattering 'Emo' days, when 99% of my hair was fringe and I lived in Atticus clothing. I sang my little heart out and loved every second.

So that's it for this months faves, I'd love to see what everyone else has been enjoying this month.

  1. Good god, this watch is so pretty. No wonder you wouldn't want to get it scratched on something *insert so many heart-eyed emojis here*

  2. I adore that mascara too, it's quickly become a staple in my makeup bag! I've got a couple of the Revlon Colorstay balms, but they're all glossy, so I'm definitely going to have to add a few of the mattes to my collection. Sultry is a stunning shade!
