Make up | Birthday Face

Today is my 25th birthday! Tomorrow Gareth and I are going to Wales for a little break, which I'm really looking forward to. But tonight I'm going out for drinks, and so I thought I'd show you what I've got on my face.

I started off by priming with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer, to make sure my make up lasts all day. I then applied a thin layer of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Ecru using a damp beauty blender. This is my favourite way to apply this foundation to give a good coverage without creating cakey-ness. I really struggle to apply it with a brush. I then used Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose. I've just realised I've not included any powder in this photo, but I did use Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent to set everything. I then used the Sleek Contour Kit in Light and the Makeup Revolution Blush in Now to try and give my chubby chops some sort of definition.

Brows & Eyes
My current go to brow product is the Revlon Brow Fantasy in Brunette. It's exactly the right shade for me and defines my brows in a way that makes them look really natural. I use the pencil end to fill in sparse areas and then brush in the gel to tidy everything up and set it all in to place, and they don't budge all day. The one thing I would change though is the size of the spoolie, it could do with just being a bit smaller.
Recently I've been using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creme De Nude... as a matte base for my eyes. It's the perfect colour for my skin tone and just creates a nice blank canvas on my thin and veiny eyelids. On a normal day I would usually add a darker shade in the crease and be done with it. But today I got a bit adventuress and broke in to the Mabelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate which has been sitting un-used in my drawers for some time now. I usually shy away from colour on the eyes, so I cautiously took a small amount through the crease and then blended with a fluffy brush out on to the lid. I did get a bit braver and built up the colour a little. I then used the No7 Shade and Define Pencil in Glistening Ray to highlight the inner corner. Again I've just realised I've missed my eyeliner out of the photo, but I used my usual Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner and added a few Eyelure Pro Lash individual lashes.

Of course I chose one of my all time favourite lipsticks, Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107. With quite a colourful (for me) eye make up, I was going to go nude on the lips. But I actually thought this went quite well with the eyes.

All in all, probably a bit more of a bolder look than I would usually go for but, it's my birthday... so *insert all the birthday emojis here*.

  2. You have some great makeup picks here :) I love Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation and there are some amazing lipsticks shades in the Kate for Rimmel range. The Metallic Pomegrante shadow looks amazing - I'm a bit boring though when it comes to brighter colours and I don't think I'd be able to pull that off myself! xxx
