Homeware and Decor | A George at Asda Wishlist

Since moving in with my boyfriend just a few months ago, in to our first proper house together (and by that I mean it's an actual proper house complete with spare room AND office space, rather than a flat where the kitchen is the living room is the bedroom type situation) I've become obsessed with home decor and housey type purchases.

In truth, I've always been a bit obsessed with interiors. When I was younger one of my favourite shows was Changing Rooms. And now I find myself addicted to programs like The Great British Interior Design Challenge, George Clarke's Amazing Spaces and pretty much anything involving Kirstie Allsopp.

Anyway, my point is, I am now a fully fledged adult finding myself with a whole house to fill, rather than having to just confine everything to my bedroom. Which is brilliant, but it also kind of blows my mind a bit.

With all the other general life expenses, plus cosmetics and clothes, that doesn't leave much room in the budget for home accessories. But that's alright, because it really doesn't have to cost a lot. And who doesn't love a bargain?

One of my favourite places for home purchases on a budget is George at Asda. They have some really beautiful and on trend pieces in their home section, that truly wouldn't look out of place in the home section of Next *drool*. So I've decided to put together a little wishlist of all the little trinkets and home accessories (or as the boyfriend would say, 'pointless clutter', haha) I've been lusting after in there lately.

1. Magnifying Glass | 2. Hand Mirror | 3. Letter Rack | 4. Birdcage Tealight Holder |
5. Hurricane Stand | 6. Service Bell | 7. Wicker Lantern | 8. Hour Glass | 9. Glass Jar Trinket Box |
10. Bust Jewellery Stand | 11. Knitted Stag's Head | 12. Glass Bell Jar

All of these items would like great in my home this Autumn/Winter. I'm particularly loving the glass bell jar and the antique style hand held mirror, very 'Beauty and the Beast'. All we would need is a rose and a bit of magic! Also, I really love the service bell. Very quirky, and would look pretty brilliant on the table in my entrance hall. Oh, I feel like quite a few of these items will be mine come payday this month!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on my picks, or let me know if you've any other good recommendations :).

On a little side note here, while we're on the never ending subject of home accessories, I would say my other go to store is B&M.  I have on literally across the road from my house, which is far too convenient. I would say that a large percentage of the products aren't to my taste, at all. Think of it as the Primark of the home-ware world. You've gotta sift through the less desirable pieces, but you're pretty much guaranteed to find a few hidden gems for a bargain price.

Take, for example, the beautiful glass bottles I purchased there the other day for  around £1.99 each!

Have you bought anything good for your home recently that has put a smile on your face? Let me know!
