Makeup Revolution - Mini Haul

Hiya! Good good to see you round these parts! :)

So, I don't know if you've heard, but there's this makeup brand, Makeup Revolution, that have erupted on to the scene and caused quite a hubbub. Oh, you have heard? No kidding.

I noticed Makeup Revolution popping up quite quickly all over some of my favourite blogs. Before long they were being tweeted about and Instagramed all over the place. So yes, here I am, late to the party, with my first mini haul. I actually purchased this little bundle quite a while ago but I'm only just getting around to posting about it. You may have seen me posting odd bits on my Insta if you follow me.

When it came to making my first purchases, it took me a long while to decide. Their website offers a plethora of goodies, from face, eyes lips and assorted palettes, to skincare and makeup tools. I spent ages going over and over everything, wanting pretty much everything I set my eyes on. Another little treat for my eyes was the price, everything is just so affordable. And then I thought, for these prices, can the products really be as good as everyone is saying? So I decided to make a few small purchases, and put them to the test.

One thing I've been really on a mission to do recently, is find the perfect pink lip. An easy wear pink, that can take me from day to night, and will go with everything. I've also been itching for a new lip lacquer. Lacquers are one of my favourite kinds of lip products, easy to apply with all the pay off of your average lipstick. So after a little browsing, I came across the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in 'What I believe'.

One great thing about the Makeup Revolution website is that it shows you swatches. So you know how when you're hunting for a lippy you come home with the back of your hand/up your arm covered in swatches? Well this is like the online version of that, only all the colours don't get mixed up, you don't forget which swatch is which, and you don't have to walk around for the rest of the day wishing you'd have remembered to buy wipes.

What I Believe looked like the easy wear pink I was looking for. I'm not one for nude colours on my lips, as I feel it does my paleness no favours, so this kind of nudey pink hybrid is the kind of thing I was looking for in terms of every day where. Being a lacquer, it promises to be highly pigmented and long lasting. Long lasting products are something I look for when I'm creating my 'every day' face. During the working day, I just don't have time to reapply any make up, so this was ticking all the right boxes for me. And the price... well, for £3.00 I just couldn't grumble, it was worth a go! So in my basket it went.

What next, then? I thought to myself, what is one make up product I just haven't settled with yet? You know how when you find the perfect product, you use it and use it and use it and all the other similar items in your stash get forgotten about? Well one product I've never had that with is a blusher. I've never had a blusher I've really felt committed to. So, in a bid to find 'the one', I headed over to the blusher section.

I know cream blushers have been a huge thing for a long time, and now liquid blushers, but it's something I've never added to my make up collection. I've been wanting to dive in to the cream blusher trend for a while, so I took the opportunity to get my toes wet when I saw MR were doing them for as little as £1.50. So, inspired my first pink purchase, I chose the shade 'Framboise Shake'.

The blush promises to be smooth and build-able. And judging by the swatch, I figured I could use it to add a touch of light pink to my cheeks for every day wear. It also promises to be long lasting, which is something I've struggled to find in powder blushes. So I was hoping this would make me a cream blush convert... and in the basket it went.

Now, as I've already said, I've never found a blusher I've really loved, which means I've bought a lot of different blushers in trial and error. And I now have some sort of complex where I feel the need to try ALL the blushers and hoard them. So I just couldn't resist taking a peak at what else was on offer, which is when I saw the baked blush.

They looked stunning, with their veins of deep colour mingled in to lighter shades and highlighting pigments. After flicking through the swatches, I went for the one that I thought would look like a natural blush on my cheeks, 'Loved Me The Best'.

This appears to be the reddest of the baked blushers available, but as you can see by the swatch, comes out as quite a natural looking blush. The blusher it's self is described as soft and natural, and easily buildable. It also contains hints of shimmer, which I can imagine just really lights up your happy little cheeks when you're wearing it. Unable to resist it's beauty, I knew I wouldn't be able to complete my transaction without it in my basket.

And finally! I'm always, always looking for a good eyeshadow palette. It's my favourite way to buy eyeshadows, knowing I'll be able to build up a good looking eye from just one purchase. I love the variety and the options an eye palette gives you. This purchase was most definitely influenced by the many blogs I had read, praising this beautiful palette. The Iconic 3.

Honestly, the huge range of eye palettes available blew my mind. And I have absolutely no doubt I will be back for more. It was so difficult to pick just one. Each appealed to me for different reasons, and I really liked the idea of the separate palettes of 'Essential Mattes' and 'Essential Shimmers'. But I just had to go with the Iconic 3 for my first purchase, promising myself I'd be back for the others. I'd read so much about it on other blogs I just had to try it out. Also, this way i was in keeping with the pinkish theme I'd somehow managed to build up.

The palette is described as a mix of pearl, shimmer and matte shades, with ultra high pay off. So, with variety being the spice of life, I happily added this in to my basket for the tiny sum of £4.00. Brilliant.

So I have been using these products for a while now, and in the very near future I will be posting a review on each individual product, so keep your eyes peeled!
